Extra Curricular Activities(Session 2011-2012)
ECA Framework:
- The ECA activities for the session 2011-2012 have been divided into two broad categories:
- Professional Clubs
- Activity Clubs
- The different ECA activities shall be allocated to the students as per their interests and boarding status.
- Each professional & activity club shall be coordinated by a Club/activity coordinator.
- Every Club shall be responsible for celebrating a week assigned to it which shall be on rotation basis.
- The clubs shall be divided into different teams which are Vasundhara (House of Earth), Amrita (House of Water), Krashanu (House of Light / fire) and Samiran (House of Air), which will be led by a Team coordinator who is selected by all team members for 3-4 months
- As per the nature of the activity, the club shall host:
- Tournaments
- Activity exhibitions
- Competitions (poster making, painting, debates and JAM sessions etc)
- Campus Fair
- Awareness camp etc. and perform Inter house competitions which shall be organized by each club as a part of its celebration and the grading shall be done on the basis of performance in each completion of each house team.
- The progress report of the clubs shall be submitted at regular intervals (monthly) by the club coordinators to the concerned authorities (Coordinator, ECA).
- The grading of the students shall be done strictly according to the participation and performance in the clubs by Coordinator, ECA.
- The students shall be provided with the certificates along with the grading, which shall be done on the yearly pattern, which shall be marked on the mark sheet as per the credit i.e. 1 credit each for trimester, semester and yearly pattern (20 hrs/trimester; 30 hrs/semester; 60 hrs/year).

The rules and regulations for the Professional and Activity clubs are as mentioned below:
- Each professional & activity club shall be coordinated by a Club / Activity coordinator.

- The clubs shall be divided into four different teams namely Vasundhara, Amrita, Krashanu and Samiran which will be led by a Team coordinator who shall be selected by all team members for a term period of 4 months.
- As per the nature of the activity, the club shall host:
- Tournaments
- Activity exhibitions
- Competitions (poster making, dramas, street plays, painting, debates and JAM sessions etc)
- Campus Fair
- Awareness camp etc.
- 2Inter house competitions shall be organized by each club as a part of its celebration and the grading shall be done on the basis of presence and performance in competitions of each house team.
- The progress report of the clubs shall be submitted at regular intervals (monthly) by the club coordinators to the concerned authorities (Coordinator, ECA).
- The grading of the students shall be done strictly according to the presence, participation and performance in the clubs by Coordinator, ECA.
- The students shall be provided with the certificates along with the grading, which shall be done on the yearly pattern and marked on the mark sheet as per the credit system i.e. 1 credit each for trimester, semester and yearly pattern (20 hrs / trimester; 30 hrs/semester; 60 hrs/year).
For the session 2011- 2012, Jayoti Cadet & Corps has been divided into two groups namely Anti Ragging Committee & Disciplinary Committee. The roles and responsibilities of both the groups are as under:
- Anti Ragging Committee: The committee has been established with the aim to root out ragging in all its forms from the University by instituting stringent anti-ragging measures and provisions for strict punishments to defaulters.
- The members of the committee will be responsible for making University a Ragging-free zone
- Its function will include going around / patrolling the University campus and the Campus common areas, maintain vigil and take action if they notice any incidence of ragging.
- The members shall report any incidence of harassment and untoward behavior for any student.
- They shall also report the guilty for such incidents to the concerned authority.
- They shall be responsible for any misconduct on their floor of residence and shall provide relief and compassion to the victim.
- The members shall at all time wear the Black Anti ragging Badge provided to them by the University.
- They shall maintain and honor the dignity of the responsibilities entrusted to them by the University
- Disciplinary Committee: The committee has been established to ensure a fair and orderly proceeding on incidents of possible student misconduct.
- The members of the committee shall at all time wear the White Discipline Badge provided to them by the University.
- The members of the committee shall report and prohibit any misconduct which
- interferes with University’s pursuit of its educational objectives
- fails to exhibit a regard for the rights of others
- shows disrespect for the safety of persons and property
- violates, or attempts to violate, University rules, regulations
- Obstruction or disruption of teaching, research, administration, service, or other activity or function of the University
- Threats, physical abuse, or harassment directed toward a staff member of the University, or student body or toward a visitor to the campus.
- They shall maintain and honor the dignity of the responsibilities entrusted to them by the University
The JCC members shall be exempted from the Credit hour requirement as applicable to other clubs, provided that they perform their responsibilities with utmost care, failing which they shall be penalized in the form of ECA grades.
National Social Service, Vedaant Advisory Clinic & Red Cross
The regulations as applicable on the abovementioned clubs are as follows:
- The club members are required to undertake at least five hours of training in their respective field as a part of their credit hours requirement.
- The clubs shall continue performing and discharging the duties entrusted to them on a regular basis.
- Any deviation from their performance shall result in difference in their ECA grades.
- The clubs shall also be responsible for the duties for students as entrusted for different areas on and off University campus.
